eat and let eat

Midnight-snacking
on fresh, hot pan de sal,
I watch a cunning
little lizard
on my bedroom wall
try
and have success
catching for dinner
a moth
so witless.

classic mo'time

The monitor magically flickered back to normalcy so I took the opportunity to do some damage around here. Not really very summery, but definitely very Mo'time.

Howard, if you want your colors back, just let me know. At any rate, I will keep this scheme for a limited time only.

spitting fluids of all the wrong colors

I was going to change the color scheme of The Blog with summery colors when I remembered ah fuck it, my monitor’s on the blink. It has a bluish tinge on it, so it appears, rendering itself color-blind such that what is normally yellow is now greenish; orange, orange-greenish; red, purple and blue, different shades of blue. How am I supposed to know whether the blog ends up with the colors I actually want? With a new monitor, yep, that’s the plan. No, with magic spectacles.

When I was 12 I joined an on-the-spot painting contest at the Shang. Was it a painting or coloring contest, I forget. Paint the canvas with color contest it was so anyway, to cut the story short, I did not win. My mother, who went with me and spent her time knitting while waiting for me, later admonished me and said it’s because I had colored the river red. I was thinking, how could that guy (from the exhibit I had gone to much earlier prior to the contest) have colored his tree’s roots purple-blue and gotten it mounted while I could not get away with a blood-red river? But then, probably unlike the guy, I had no real reason for making my river bleed, except later I thought, Pre-Parting of the Red Sea! Other than that maybe I was at fault all right. What can I say, I was young and impressionable.

wisdom (tooth) of the fool

I've just found out that my wisdom tooth has erupted. My tongue has been feeling the very back of my mouth all day which I did not mind at all, until my tongue-tip began to feel sore. So I checked what the business was back there. (Made me nostalgic for my former teachers who ever said Mind letting us in on your business back there?) Hard white thing poking out of my gum. Must be what they call wisdom tooth. Now I have that nagging urge to extract da tooth, myself.
